Most days, our lives run on a pleasant and polite parallel track to our coworker’s lives. We each have a few who we know a bit better than others but, for the most part, we only get glimpses into their 5 to 9 selves during major life events—a wedding, a new baby, a death in the family.
A long-time coworker’s father passed last week. Today, I learned a little bit more about the life and legacy his dad and, in turn, my coworker. Today is also the 10 year anniversary of my husband’s father’s passing- a great man that I never met in person but feel so lucky to know through others.
While our work is temporary, the ripples are real and the connections last.
