What do you do when you aspire to write about the most boring topic ever-- federal management consulting? Just jump in, I guess, in the hopes that you'll find some important, sparkly conversation.
I'll start. Something about our business has been nagging me. Our government clients are largely in reactive mode around budget cuts, retirement waves, technology adoption-- and so are we. Through IM chats and happy hour rants, we (broadly defined) all seem to agree that current model is far from perfect. But whether its hard to imagine government business any other way or we're all just tired, no one is leading the charge to reinvent the model.
I think that if we temporarily suspend our disbelief, we can work together to reshape federal programs and launch the next chapter.
